Chop down the trees

Chip the trees

Dry the Chips

Hammermill the chips into sawdust

Run the sawdust thru the Pellet Mill

As sawdust is pushed through the pellet mill, friction from the rollers heats the die to approximately 180°F (82°C). This heat, combined with the high pressure forcing the wood through the die, causes lignin—a natural polymer found in wood and bark—to melt.

As the pellet cools, the lignin hardens, binding the material together and creating a dense, durable pellet—without the need for additives.

Some manufacturers rely on binders such as molasses or soy, which can result in darker, shinier pellets. Because we use fresh fruitwood with the bark intact, our pellets contain enough natural lignin to bind properly on their own.

The result is a pellet with a natural wood color, clean burn, and pure fruitwood smoke.

Our pellets are 100% fruitwood—nothing else.
